Abstract

The result of a multi-year and interdisciplinary research project, the monographic volume highlights the events that marked the history of the Olivetan abbey after the Napoleonic suppression at the end of the eighteenth century and the restoration of monastic life in 1969; a rich array of images accompanies the volume and documents the management troubles and structural degradation resulting from the abandonment of the monastery.
