Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution examines the theme of disability in the 'Adventures of Pinocchio', focusing mainly on the characters of the Cat and the Fox. The text highlights both the instrumental use of blindness and lameness and their reversal from instruments of deception to forms of punishment. The essay also highlights the link between the disability of the couple, first false and then true, and a particular conception of money and work, modeled on the thought of Benjamin Franklin. In light of these premises, the physical impairment of the two animals in the finale (XXXVI) represents the socially visible punishment of an incorrect ethic of earnings.
