Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] With the Petrarchan and post-Petrarchist tradition, the consideration of the beloved woman goes from the donna angelicata of the dolce stil novo to the description of a cruel beast, merciless towards the lover, whose sufferings are often portrayed as similar to those of prison or even death. a hell. In his love poetry, Francisco de Quevedo presents this situation by describing it with images of violence, physical and moral, that drag the lover towards his annulment as an extreme result of the harmful relationship between the woman and the poet. However, we note that the horror images used already belong to a certain phase of Petrarchism, which will lead to Marinism, thus suggesting a double influence, both of Petrarch and of Marinus and the respective disciples. Love is no longer a feeling sung and praised for its positiveness and for helping man to exalt himself towards God, but it is cursed and denigrated for causing more pain than joy and for reducing man to a slave or a prisoner, looking towards the heaven alone to invoke the mercy of God to put an end to his anguish.
