Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Databases (databases) represent collections of works and data typically accessible thanks to IT tools. Digital technologies make it possible to manage, store and process enormous quantities of information, also thanks to big data or sensors linked to the Internet of Things. Databases, together with computer programs, are protected by copyright laws as works of a creative nature (such as software) as regards the choice or arrangement of the material. Valuation is based above all on the royalties expected for database consultation or on the co-creation and sharing of value between owners and users.
