Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Innovative start-ups represent newly formed companies with high growth potential, which they usually absorb a lot of liquidity in the first years of life, to finance development, against assets rarely usable as collateral. This makes them unappealing to bank intermediaries traditional, usually replaced in the seed and scale up phase by other specialized intermediaries such as i venture capital or private equity funds, which diversify their portfolios by founding their own strategies on a multi-year exit with strong increases in value expected from the investments that survive to a Darwinian selection. The typical technological footprint of many start-ups implies similarities valuation with patents, know-how and intangibles linked to specific innovative sectors (blockchain, big data, artificial intelligence, etc.).
