Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Over the last few decades, the European Union has made a choice of the field by setting up its own system of protection of human rights, which goes alongside other existing ones aimed at guaranteeing, to a large extent, the same individual rights to the same categories of people. The coexistence of a plurality of binding instruments, while raising delicate problems, including that of coordination between the bodies responsible for controlling their application, does not however seem to necessarily produce negative effects. The study intends to demonstrate that, since the formal accession of the EU to the European Convention on Human Rights is not at hand, the overlapping of legal instruments and judicial and semi-judicial bodies do not constitute a threat to the legal security of the system .
