Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The double green and digital transition is a crucial factor in the growth and development of countries. Digital transformation has a significant impact on the ability of companies to combat the effects of climate change and to implement effective strategies related to environmental sustainability – use of renewable energy, saving energy consumption, recycling and reusing materials, development of innovative products and processes. At the same time, it is necessary to control any costs arising from the emergence of increasingly connected systems, which require a significant expenditure of energy and resources. The empirical evidence analyzed presents a non-optimal situation in Italy, both in terms of the development of digital and green technologies at the country and regional level, and in terms of the adoption of digitalization processes and sustainability practices at the company level.
