Abstract
The volume highlights the mostly unknown origins of the Meaning-Text Theory in the machine translation research developped in the Soviet Union between the Fifties and Sixties of the last century. It focuses on the foundational aspects of this linguistic theory, whose originality is deeply rooted in the linguistic tradition of the Twentieth century.
