[Autom. eng. transl.] This volume presents the main results and implementation paths of two business creation support programs implemented by the Province of Cuneo between the beginning of 2010 and the end of 2013 within the European Social Fund 2007-2013 programming of the Piedmont Region. The two programs are part of a broader intervention carried out along similar guidelines from all the provinces of Piedmont in the context of a delegation granted to them by the Region; however, the meeting between the ex-ante policy design defined by the Region and the Provinces and the single provincial (or even sub-provincial) context has produced different and specific implementation paths and outcomes according to the territories. It is for this reason that it is interesting to reconstruct what happened, in this case on the territory of the province of Cuneo, in the path of "translation in practice" of the two programs in order, on the one hand, to understand what distance there is - even in sense of improvement - between planning intentions and what actually happened and, on the other, to identify possible lines of continuation of this experience within the forthcoming new programming of the European Union Structural Funds. The setting and contents of the programs, belonging to the field of active labor policies and focused on supporting self-employment, are the last stage (at least until today) of an important and significant history - even in the national panorama - of programs promoted by the Piedmont Region, and implemented together with the Provinces, since the end of the Nineties with the aim of integrating labor policies with local development policies. These are programs that have made real support and accompaniment services available to aspiring entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs, focused on the construction and subsequent "translation in practice" of a business-plan (as well as financial support) and which are characterized by a strong territorial link that was substantiated in the management delegation to the Provinces and, by these, in connection with their policies and instruments to support local development and employment (the Employment Centers in the first place). It is from this interweaving that arises, in a period such as the present one (in which work and employment, even without adjectives, must be the absolute priority), the interest to reconstruct, describe and deepen the experience realized by the Province of Cuneo, as a contribution to the dissemination of similar experiences throughout the national territory.
