[Autom. eng. transl.] The Lebanese poet Wadih Saadeh was one of the pioneers of the Arabic qaṣidat al-naṯr (prose poetry). Even in this context, however, he stands out for his unique voice, stylistically difficult to classify, in particular for the use he makes (or does not make) of metaphorical language. After having presented four contrasting critical readings of Wadih Saadeh's poetry, an alternative reading is proposed in which the water, omnipresent in the poet's verses, is taken up with the theme, technique and gaze on the world in the work of Wadih Saadeh, for his ability to blend and merge the boundaries between different worlds.
