Abstract
This essay identifies the role of the Periodical as a «second stone» of Father Gemelli’s cultural and educational project, inaugurated with the «Rivista di filosofia neoscolastica» and culminating in the founding of the Catholic University. The publication came about during the artistic and intellectual setting of the early twentieth century, earning itself the definition of «futurism in reverse». Its principle was to oppose positivism and modernism, to play a part in the development and spreading of an «organic» culture, which could meet the expectations of those who were looking to understand the multifaceted and changing contemporary reality, in the light of Christian thinking.
