[Autom. eng. transl.] The notion of sustainability in the last two decades has been enriched by broad cultural connotations, attentive to integrating themes belonging to different disciplines to consider the theoretical and operational connections between the environmental, social and economic dimensions of human life. The essay, without claiming to be exhaustive, aims to investigate whether and in what terms sustainability can become a guideline for accompanying educational pathways in the school, building and enhancing pupils' soft skills and nurturing ethical-value behaviors to build the terrestrial community . The Encyclical Laudato Si 'can offer important interpretative keys to devise and structure heuristic approaches in the sign of the common good, between environmental ecology and human ecology.
