Abstract
The essay brings to the attention for the first time in a scientific publication the figure of Peter
Comolli (Milan, 1902-1977), an artist isolated from groups and movements, but a participant in the exhibition activity of his time, proposes portraiture that fits in the wake of the 'return to order' and Magic Realism. Through the study of his unpublished "Diaries" and the consultation of the archive, his activity as a portraitist is highlighted with lunges on works that have remained unpublished until now.
