Abstract
The paper presents a reflection on feelings and emotions as a source of existential wisdom, human competence essential in caring professions. It also focuses on the reasons that have led us to consider feelings and emotions as an obstacle to the exercise of proper professional practice and argues that in the attention to feel and look in the direction of what you do is the motivation that drives social work.
