Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The paper examines the function of tragic consciousness and tragedy as a representation of dialectical thought, whose main elements are found in the characteristics of the tragic phenomenon. The unilateral nature of the consciousness that causes the collision gives rise to the antithetical situation that characterizes the dialectic; in fact, according to some scholars, the dialectic appears for the first time in theological theological writings in the guise of the tragic. Through the different works of Hegel, the contribution reconstructs the categories of the tragic experience and the Hegelian reading of some of the most significant tragedies of antiquity and modern theater, highlighting the fundamental difference between the tragic conflict typical of antiquity, which it took place in the ethical sphere, and the tragic conflict of modernity that unfolds in the exclusively psychological field.
