Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] This paper reflects on the educational implications that emerge from young people's statements regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how the 'media-educational posture' is questioned by the analysis of the data collected in the research of the Youth Observatory of the Toniolo Institute, the result of a questionnaire administered between 25 July and 9 August 2023 to 6,003 young people aged between 18 and 34 living in Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom. The data are reinterpreted according to Artificial Intelligence Literacy (AIL) in which the new literacy is made up of four dimensions: cognitive (knowing and understanding AI), operational (using and applying AI), critical (evaluating and creating AI) and ethical (understanding the ethical implications of AI). In this way, a posture is assumed that aims to promote the ability to navigate, understand and interact critically in the complex ecosystem of AI.
