Abstract
This essay reconstructs Eduard Mörike’s (1804-1875) fortune in Italy. In particular, it traces the history of the Italian translations of Mörike’s poems from the nineteenth century to the very present day, with a specific focus on some still little known episodes, which are investigated through a largely unpublished new documentation. The essay is accompanied by a chronological register of the Italian translations, divided into three sections: translations in journals, in anthologies, and independent editions.
