Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Over the years, the life of Teresa Pla Meseguer, better known as the Pastora, has become a true myth: woman and man at the same time, guerrilla and bandit, the ambiguity of the character and the scarce news about her history Personal have contributed to the growth of his fame, conferring some fascination on the eyes of modern readers. Alicia Giménez-Bartlett's novel, Where Nobody Finds You (published by Destino publishing house in 2012), merges historical reality and literary fiction to try to clarify some specific aspects of the Pastor's life through the investigations of a French psychiatrist and a Catalan journalist who follow in the footsteps of the protagonist in order to understand the real motivations of their behaviors. The purpose of this work is to reflect on the characterization of the character and the importance that the socio-political context of setting the novel plays within the narrative that, in fact, reconstructs through literary fiction one of the most difficult and tormented of the history of Spain.
