Abstract

The contemporary development of the internet is characterized by the encreasing of more and more social spaces of interaction and communicative relations among users. This internt based social space is continuous with the everyday experience and the network of face-to-face interpersonal relations. This is especially true for teenagers who 'inhabit' the spaces of the social network sites (Sns), and who exploit them to support, feed, monitor or expand their network of friends. Social media area a stage for identity performance of teenagers and a place where they develop more or less sophisticated and aware strategies of social management, characterized by the adoption of different 'styles' of publicity and openness. The 'inhabited side' of the internet is, thus, an ‘anthropological’ place rich of social relations and meanings, which involve the peer group, without ceasing of call into question the family ties.
