Abstract
Technological progress in the transport sector is leading to the introduction of higher and higher automated vehicles and in the next future it is expected that even driverless cars can circulate. On this assumption the essay deals with the various criteria for allocating civil liability for damages caused by these vehicles in road traffic. Further questions concern the contributory negligence of injured party and the joint and several liability of all those who contributed to the accident, paying attention to the rules for sharing the cost of compensation between the individual responsible parties.
