[Autom. eng. transl.] The present contribution arises from the enormous fascination exerted on the author by the ability found in some individuals to know how to deal effectively with a negative event (destabilizing and critical) and to transform it into a stimulus for personal research that favors the positive reorganization of one's existence and that of others. How do certain people get out of deeply painful events? How can a stressful and traumatic event turn into an opportunity for growth and learning? It is the story of Giacomo Sintini, national volleyball champion who was diagnosed with lymphatic system cancer in 2011. Giacomo does not give up, undergoes several cycles of chemotherapy and an autograft, he heals and returns to play and win. After passing the experience against cancer, he started an association that bears his name and aims to raise funds for research on leukemia and lymphoma and for onco-hematology assistance. The work is divided into four sections. The first focuses on a new stipulation of the concept of crisis, different from the one commonly used. The second section deals with the theme of resilience understood as the ability to effectively deal with destabilizing external events (like a disease) and the ability to activate an evolutionary change, an improvement for oneself but also for others (the creation of the association) ( Cantoni, 2014). In the third section, the centrality of a multiplicity of teams understood as groups of people sharing common and convergent objectives is leveraged. In the fourth and last section we highlight the innovative features of the Giacomo Sintini Association, born from the desire to put ourselves at the service of and support actions of social value in the areas of solidarity, health and childhood. Finally, some concluding remarks follow.
