Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The research, with a longitudinal design, aims to explore the influence of self-image and the influence of parental representation on psychosocial risk in adolescence. The subjects were given the YSR internalizing and externalizing scales (Achenbach and Edelbrock, 1987) and the OSIQ scales related to body image, social relations, moral self, aspirations, family relationships, mastery and sexual attitudes. The responses of parents and children were compared using a reduced version of the OSIQ. The results indicate that family relationships only predict internalization issues in the first year, although their effect persists after three years. Over time the importance of body image in girls and social relationships in boys increases. Parents seem to have a good knowledge of their children and their representation predicts the academic outcome well.
