Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The subject of the end of life is among those tackled by the journal Medicina e Morale with greater breadth and depth. Since the founding of the Journal until today there are more than 70 publications on the subject, including scientific contributions, editorials and articles placed under the heading The debate in Bioethics. The topics covered can be classified as follows: death in general; euthanasia; brain death ; therapeutic cruelty; palliative care and assistance to the dying; current refusal of treatments; vegetative states; advance treatment statements; biological will. Diverse are the perspectives for reflection and the integration between the diverse knowledge that is discovered in the reading of the numerous contributions present in the magazine. The questions of the "end of life" have been addressed from an ethical point of view, but also clinical and medical-legal, bio-legal, deontological, anthropological-philosophical, with an always attentive look at the controversies that have caused public debate in the course of the years
