Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay proposes a review of texts and authors who, during the nineteenth century, placed the figure of the orphan at the center of their work. In particular, we focus on the "Ginevra" of Antonio Ranieri for giugnere, through Tarchetti and De Amicis, to the novellas of Verga and Capuana and to the "Myricae" of Pascoli which take shape, as has been sharply said, like a real "orphan novel".
