Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Over the course of time, the development and professionalization of applied psychology has undergone many adversities. These difficulties have affected, and still partly concern, both the methodological and the theoretical levels, thus complicating its stabilization also at the level of institutional and scientific legitimacy. In fact, it is not difficult to come across a certain skepticism about the transformative value of psychology, both among specialists and non-specialists. In this regard, the thesis supported here is that the difficulties on the level of social and institutional legitimacy are nothing other than consequences of questions that have remained unresolved on a more strictly theoretical and philosophical level.
