Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The topic of environmental protection by the public bodies responsible for this function finds space in the contribution. Two issues in particular are discussed in more detail by referring to the European scenario. First of all, the understanding of the processes through which the definition of policies and priorities regarding environmental protection takes place. Secondly, the recognition of the methods used to identify the individuals and administrations responsible for implementing these policies. The themes of environmental policy, proposed in the encyclical, are then reread in terms of the need for coordination between different levels of governments and the need to overcome what Pope Francis recognizes as fragmentation
