Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Iranian foreign policy has become an interesting object of study especially after the Revolution of 1979. The epochal change that has affected the political order and the institutional structure of the country, in fact, has also and above all involved the Iranian position at a regional and international level . Much of Western literature has tried to decipher and describe what motivations guided the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic. If strategies appear to have changed over time, based on new threats and new regional balances, Iranian foreign posture has always pursued objectives aimed at satisfying national interests. What is the nature of these interests (the primacy of security or the promotion of Khomeinist revolutionary thought?), questioned the different schools of international relations, highlighting aspects that are not always in harmony with each other.
