[Autom. eng. transl.] The data on the Lombard zootechnical PPB for 2009 confirms what could have been observed commenting on the result of the previous year, namely that the sudden 8% increase constituted a (temporary) effect of the price hike. In fact, in the last year we observe an average decline of 7.6%, which shows the value of breeding activity in the region practically at the same level as in 2007 (tab. 15.1). It is therefore not surprising to note that the largest drop is in the item that had grown the most in 2008, namely cow's milk: with a value reduction close to 180 million euros (-10.9%): this sector returned 90% of the previous year's earnings. The behavior of pork is not dissimilar in the annual summary: + 9.9% in 2008 is set against -7.6% in the following year, while maintaining a positive balance in the two-year period.
