La produzione ateniese di vasellame in bronzo in epoca arcaica e classica: forme, stile, caratteristiche

Translated title of the contribution: The Athenian production of bronze pottery in archaic and classical times: shapes, style, characteristics

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Since their discovery during the archaeological excavations managed on the Athenian Acropolis in the XIX century, many bronze vessels fragments of the archaic and early classical period weren’t carefully studied, leaving unknown this important class of materials. The recent analysis of a great part of these pieces (more than one thousand) allowed to recognize the more common shapes, their style and decoration, defining the characteristic of a local production, to which we can now attribute many pieces found in different, even far, places.
