Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The publication takes into consideration some paintings on marble slabs from the Roman era, preserved in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples and the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, mainly coming from Rome, Herculaneum and Pompeii. The search for unpublished archival documents and the application of non-invasive diagnostic techniques have made it possible to reconstruct the design and original polychromy of these paintings.
