Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Through the analysis of unpublished documents preserved at the Accademia della Crusca, the Catholic University of Brescia, the Centro Apice and the Mondadori Foundation, these pages reconstruct the history of the critical edition of Luigi Pulci's Morgante prepared by Franca Brambilla Ageno and retrace the efforts made for a revised and corrected second edition that has never seen the light. The publishing story is complex and involves important publishing houses such as Le Monnier, Mondadori and Ricciardi and personalities of the caliber of Dino Buzzati, Francesco Flora, Dante Isella, Alfredo Schiaffini and Vittorio Sereni.
