Abstract
The article deals with the recent Act on strengthening collective bargaining, enacted last August in Germany, and focuses in particular upon the new Mindestlohngesetz, the Act that establishes a national minimum wage. The author describes the intense debate which thrived before the adoption of the Act, by outlining the delicate compromise which holds the Act: the establishment of a national minimum wage that at the same time is able to support collective bargaining. The article ends by opening a window on the state of the art in our Country.
