Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume is dedicated to an in-depth study of the television genre of scripted series from the United States, focusing on the subgenre of the drama. After a historical survey of the stylistic and productive evolution of the genre, three sections analyze in more detail the role of the author (showrunner), the relevance of the character in character-driven narratives and some relevant thematic strands in contemporary production.
