Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The link between violence and the Islamic religion, following the historical events of these last forty years, seems to show a common ground that reconciles terrorism and fundamentalism in an unequivocal union. On the contrary, and in stark contrast to other religions, Islam, during its centuries of history, has revealed a low propensity towards religious wars or inquisitions, manifesting only in a specific case, an effective attitude towards a real dogmatic violence . This article aims to analyze the Mihna, the only Islamic inquisition that in the 9th century also used violence to support its own Truth.
