Abstract
This study analyzes the representation of traditional Chilean medicine in\r\ntwentieth-century differential lexicography, revealing that dictionaries are not neutral\r\nlinguistic tools, but cultural artifacts shaped by ideological perspectives. The micro- and\r\nmacrostructural analysis reveals a bias toward traditional medicine compared to the\r\nWestern conception of medicine. This bias is reflected both in the greater visibility of\r\nterms related to herbal medicine and in the presence of linguistic markers that convey\r\na distancing attitude. These elements underscore the ideological biases embedded\r\nin lexicographic representations, emphasizing the cultural hierarchies that shape the\r\nperception of traditional healing practices.
