Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Through the testimony of the De statu Canapicii Liber by Pietro Azario it is possible to reconstruct the events of a marriage between a Countess of Strambino, of the Canavese counts of San Martino, and Corrado, also known as Guido, Gonzaga, brother of the bishop of Ivrea, Alberto. From this marriage, which saw the presence of the counts of Ivrea in Mantua and of the Gonzagas, before the conquests of power, in Ivrea, all the descendants of the Mantuan noble family were derived.
