Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The first part of the paper presents some of the unpublished results of the three-year study carried out in the framework of the research project FP6-2005-FOOD-4-C, funded by the European Commission under the VI Framework Program and named "DIALREL. Religious slaughter, improving knowledge and expertise through dialogue and debate on issues of welfare, legislation and socio-economic aspects ". In particular, the legal regulation of ritual slaughter in the Member States of the European Union is reconstructed here. The second part examines the Regulation on the protection of animals during slaughtering of 24 September 2009, analyzing continuity and novelty lines with respect to Directive 93/113 / EC.
