Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The article focuses on the study of current poetic production in the indigenous languages of Chiapas, in light of the dynamics of globalization. The publication of bilingual editions, inter-ethnic contacts, the adoption of Western poetic forms and the presence of a concept of literary authorship, absent in oral tradition, attest to the creation of new discursive genres in the Mayan languages and their circulation outside of the community circuits. If these elements demonstrate on the one hand an innovation with respect to traditional poetry, its rhetorical structures and its communicative channels, on the other they reveal an attempt to affirm Mayan identity from new perspectives. The most obvious change consists in the transition from oral to writing, which determines the adoption of specific discursive strategies. However, despite the evident rhetorical changes, this poetry is still linked to the Mayan spirituality and to be a channel of expression of the multiple identities present within the indigenous communities. Current poetry plays an important role in communicating the concerns of the human being and reflecting on the role of man in contemporary life. The dialogic relationship with nature seems to be the most recurrent metaphorical image of current poetry, which expresses the cultural identity of contemporary poets, rooted in their worldview and open to the adoption of new expressive possibilities.
