La legalità del male. L'offensiva mussoliniana contro gli ebrei nella prospettiva storico-giuridica (1938-1945).

[Autom. eng. transl.] The present monograph intends to reconstruct, also through the use of numerous unpublished documents fruit of long researches carried out in the principal Italian archives, the complex legal events of which the Italian citizens "considered of Jewish race" in the time between the 1938 and 1945. The prism of the juridical persecution desired by Benito Mussolini is analyzed according to a plurality of perspectives: from the study of the regulation, which is investigated the processing and the content, to the devastating effects produced by administrative circulars, prelude of the period Republican; from the repercussions on the civil code of 1942 to the management of the discriminatory policy by the General Directorate for Demography and the Race established within the Ministry of the Interior; from the attitude of jurists (university professors, magistrates and lawyers) to the negotiations of the fascist government with the Holy See; from the attempts of the Union of the Italian Jewish Communities to limit, as far as possible, the scope of the measures to the evasive practices of the legislation and to the attempts, on the Fascist side, to fill those that appeared as flaws of the same. From the study, which does not omit to also consider the important colonial moment and the Nuremberg laws, a choral and widespread responsibility emerges at the most various levels, such as to break, or at least make the myth of the "good Italian people" re-think.
