Abstract

The nythical contents of the 'Roman de Renart' reveal common traits with a play from Aristophanes, 'The Frogs'. The sprintress' dream can be usufully compared with the episode of 'Renart et Chantecler' (branche II). A passage from the 'Odissea' seems to confirm the existence of an ancient tradition linked to this.
