Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution focuses on the governance of local public transport and on the prospects for reform of the sector, also following the sentence of the Constitutional Court n. 251/2016 (concerning the unconstitutionality of the enabling law Madia for violation of the principle of loyal collaboration between State and Regions) and against the expiry of the term for exercising the delegation granted to the Government for a comprehensive reform of the matter. The conclusion is that, twenty years after the Burlando decree and in a completely changed framework, a new regulatory intervention does not seem to be delayed anymore, given the constant increase in the demand for mobility in urban contexts and considering that a country's competitiveness is measured (also) based on the quality and livability of their cities.
