Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The primary objective of each company is to ensure that its economic activity is able to continue in a stable manner over time. In order for this to happen, it is necessary that the management put in place strategies suited to the type of business of which it is a part and to the context in which it operates. One of the primary tasks of management is therefore the one concerning the definition of the various business risks and the elaboration of suitable strategies to eliminate or limit the occurrence of such risks. When we talk about the analysis of business risks we refer to the definition of a series of possibilities that may arise during normal business activity and that directly or indirectly affect the economic-financial management of this activity economic. Among the many particular business risks that can occur, there is one, the weather risk or climate risk, which is being debated a lot recently. For this risk there is no univocal definition, however it can be expressed as the uncertainty of the business trend that is manifested due to the volatility of the weather changes that impact on revenues, costs and financial management. This particular business risk therefore differs from the other risk categories due to an important feature: independence with respect to other market variables.
