Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] To mitigate physical and transitional climate risks, in 2018 the European Commission published the Action plan on financing sustainable growth in which it outlined ten lines of action to create a sustainable economy through the reorientation of capital. This Position Paper analyzes the derivative elements that could have a significant impact on the banking system in the near future: EU Taxonomy, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). From a supervisory perspective, both the BI and the ECB
are developing climate and environmental risk stress test methodologies to assess banks' degree of alignment with ECB guidelines. The future developments that banks will have to expect from a regulatory and supervisory point of view concern the guidelines for the incorporation of ESG risks, the harmonization of methodologies for stress tests and the framework for the potential treatment of these risks.
