Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The presence of gold in society is pervasive. Its supply chain is so complex and expanded that in order to follow it - from extraction to finished products as has been done in this volume - one is involved in a planetary dimension, where territories are heavily shaped. For millennia, man has used this metal with the most varied functions: from a means of payment to a person's adornment with jewels, to fabrics, furniture components, furnishings, artistic products, industrial and health products. The symbolism that refers to gold is full of meanings: preciousness, wealth, prosperity, luxury, brightness, refinement, abundance, prestige, incorruptibility, a value that the material and the color itself underline, but also superior realities that transcend man. . Many circumstances in life are highlighted by prizes, gifts or purchases of gold objects: winnings, degrees, recognition of the success or value of an individual or group in a field of activity or for acts of particular merit. Think of the gold medals in sport, the gold record that artists in the music field receive to certify the number of copies sold, the statuettes and gold objects in cinema, the gold medals for military valor or for acts of heroism. In many production sectors the practice of rewarding with gold objects is widespread and looking for them if you discover more and more of them. The case of Il Compasso d'Oro is interesting, an award now assigned by the Association for Industrial Design (ADI): the photos of the products - true icons of design - from 1954 to 2018 allow us to witness the temporal unfolding of Italian industry since the second postwar period in many sectors and, at the same time, it seems to enter homes and buildings of all types with furnishings and objects that make or have been part of our life and that of those who preceded us. For centuries, "artisans" and gold-working artists have gathered in urban neighborhoods - which have since undergone the most diversified evolutions. Now the goldsmith industry affects many countries worldwide and has often resulted in global value chian. The various phases of the gold supply chain have structured territories and articulated networks, with specialist multinational companies and conglomerates, fashion houses and large, medium and small companies, both serial and unique items. Italy plays an important role mainly with its three districts of Vicenza, Arezzo and Valenza Po: they too have undergone significant evolutions and involution in the twentieth century and still today in the light of new production systems, world trade, e-commerce and consumer styles. Nowadays, existence is increasingly characterized by journeys that allow you to relate to sites characterized by the presence of worked gold. In particular, he is involved in cultural and / or religious tourism with visits to museums, royal palaces, historic palaces, villas, castles, historical libraries, churches, ecclesiastical assets and exhibitions with precious collections in which gold objects (and with gold ) are exhibited and gold worked in various ways appears. Today more than ever, tourism is lived for the experiences and sensations it arouses. Being able to decline it in the numerous facets in which tourism is divided into tourism, it is actually possible to satisfy many needs that are strongly expressed by the Demand. Not only cultural tourism (and hiking) in valuable indoor places in buildings such as those mentioned above, in mainly urban but also extra-urban contexts such as mining geosites. The variegated world of the offer can then expand, indicate, channel some needs. The current lifestyle involves the use of new technologies that are now pervasive. In the context of cultural tourism, holiday tourism and shopping what d
