Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The concept of education as a global common good can offer a useful framework for promoting confrontation between different knowledge systems and strengthening institutions and promoting more democratic practices of knowledge development. This concept underlines the value and relevance of the university whose purpose is to extend human understanding through its three fundamental functions: teaching, research and third mission. Inter-university cooperation will allow the launch of a debate on the connections between education, equality and development.
