[Autom. eng. transl.] Memory is a boundless field of research. The path that takes place in this volume proposes to probe the infinite recesses of a problematic dimension. Arising from an intense comparison between different disciplines and departments, this collection of studies is not simply a work of several voices, it is a kind of journey accomplished together, sometimes holding the breath at times when the air became rarefied, for way of inevitable passages in the most daring speculation, or - more often - because of the unbreathable atmosphere that characterizes some key moments in our history. There are traumas that establish social behavior, which traverse it like a karst current, waiting to crystallize in rituals, art forms, consumer styles, or perhaps in violent obsessions. Memory is a "force" that drives actors to act, rather than think. Thus in this book we are dealing with cultures, that is common ways of social life, but also of boundaries and experiences, where the social fact shared by one group is compared to that of others. Never innocent, never definitive, lamemoria lends itself to a complex and dynamic approach, of which these pages offer a possible trace.
