Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The goal of this work is to understand to what extent the covid-19 emergency has impacted the trust that young Italians, French, Spanish, Germans and British have in the societies in which they live and the institutions that constitute them. The analysis process starts from a summary reconstruction of the trust of young people in institutions prior to the covid-19 emergency, with a focus on the dynamics of the trust of young Italians. Subsequently, the data are presented regarding the self-perception of the change in trust towards people in general and in terms of increasing, maintaining and reducing towards a set of institutions that pertain to the social, cultural, economic and political spheres. Through a synthetic index of the change in institutional trust, the effects due to the socio-democratic characteristics of the young people interviewed in the different paresis and the links between three different dimensions of trust are considered: institutional, generalized and self-confidence. The conclusions include and comment on the main results of the analyzes carried out, highlighting the strengths and criticalities that emerged.
