Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Sustainable development is closely connected with human development. Reaffirming this relational perspective means recovering a horizon of a systemic sense, which offers a value and ethical orientation in the commitment to protect the environment. In particular, the essay reflects on man's need for distinctive recognition of himself as a person in the midst of other things in the world in order to be able to lavish responsibility for caring for the other, be it the neighbor or the natural world. The difficulty in "recognizing oneself and becoming a person" is clearly visible in the depth of the anthropological crisis underway, not simplified by global, rapid and ambiguous environmental changes. Based on a dialogical anthropological vision and opening up to an integral ecology, the commitment of pedagogy to rebuild the "common home" can mean bringing the discourse on the human being back to the center of the debate, in its unitary and relational nature. Inspired by the hospitable style of the family, it is necessary to design fraternal educational and formative spaces, which promote plural and inclusive opportunities to recognize the potential of the human person in the fulfillment of the common good.
