Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution shows a concrete way out of the rhetoric that affirms the centrality of the family in social life without acting in a compliant manner at the level of policies and practices. The suggested path is to wear the lens of family impact in policymaking and operational planning. In this sense, the circularity between research and policy planning is strengthened and indeed becomes indispensable, because the first requirement for a correct family impact analysis is evidence-based policymaking. The assumption of this perspective would lead to an improvement in the knowledge of legislative managers at all levels, about the situation of families and about how much the changes in progress are linked to the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of the policies in force; to concretely implement family impact assessment in the field of personal services or in the educational field, bypassing the difficulties of quantitative or counterfactual evaluation designs which often dissuade from implementing the evaluation processes required today in funded projects, or to carry them out in loosely and without really ever taking families into consideration.
