Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Faced with the changes that have involved the family in recent years we want to highlight the characteristic aspects that qualify the transition of young couples towards family and couple life. Starting from the statistical data relating to the Italian situation, some issues are described relating to the difficult transition of young Italians towards adult life and to life as a couple, illustrating the changes that have affected the way of living the emotional relationships of young couples, the their way of accessing marriage or forms of cohabitation, access to parenthood and difficulties in having to reconcile work commitments and family life. These are aspects that place young families in front of unprecedented challenges and at the same time that bring into play, at least potentially, the possibility of establishing new relationships between men and women and between generations. In order for young families to be able to grasp the generative aspects that every crisis brings with them, it is essential that they can find a welcoming and supportive social context around them, capable of promoting their potential and supporting their transformative capacities.
